Health disclaimer
General information only
Heftic gives general information about exercise and food. It is not medical advice. It does not replace your doctor. Using this site does not make us your doctor, coach or health adviser.
Speak to your doctor first
Speak to your doctor before you start a new exercise or diet plan. This matters most if you have a health condition or take medicine. It also matters if you are pregnant or have not been active for a long time.
The health check
The health check is a simple screening questionnaire. It cannot diagnose anything, and it cannot tell you that exercise is safe for you. A result with no warning signs is not a medical all-clear.
When to stop
Stop exercising if you feel: dizzy, faint, sick, chest pain, very short of breath, or a racing heart.
Get emergency help for: chest pain that does not stop with rest, or spreads to your arm, jaw or back. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Your choice, your risk
You decide whether, how and when to exercise, and you do it at your own risk. Start gently, use safe equipment and listen to your body.
